The 3080 is targeted at consistent 4k@ 60hz or above on max settings or 1440p @ over 100fps at max settings. Check out some of these benchmarks . Its a monster.

Although it still can’t break 50fps @ 1080p in flight simulator lol.

My friend was just texting me he got borked by Best Buy. It went live on their site , he adds to cart, clicks checkout, now says there’s a problem with his order , goes back to the product page and it’s out of stock.

Over the weekend CDW listed 3090s for $850 each, marked down from $1900 (IIRC) . I ordered 2! Yesterday I get an e-mail informing me that they canceled my order because the previous price was wrong and they were not going to honor it, but if I clicked the link they’d happily sell me one for $1821 .

I agree, it would be nice to stop the bots from snatching up all the goodies. I’d also love to see an embargo by online resale sites like eBay, etc., either no reselling or limit the number of live listings for something like that for the first 30-90 days, or something along those lines.

Then again I’m getting to be an old man now and I don’t get jazzed for that kind of stuff anymore, and don’t need to be an early adopter, etc. So I guess just let people scalp from those willing to part with their cash.

Also, the same friend who didn’t get the 3080 at BestBuy was the one who told me about the CDW deal. He had his order canceled, too. At least he warned me, apparently CDW has been known to pull these kind of shenanigans in the past.

I had them cancel one, it was a $400 treadmill which was marked down to... $0.13. That’s right, thirteen cents. Someone screwed up.

I didn’t expect it to actually ship for but the price I couldn’t not order one. Would be nice to have a treadmill to walk on in the winter.

What I believe happens is sellers list items that they don’t have in stock but they are listed in stock on their suppliers site. I place order, then they place order, then order gets canceled by supplier, then seller cancels order. Last order that I got canceled was a snow plow I just ordered for my side by side. I figured out that it was canceled because one item was no longer stock at kimpex ( the wholesaler) so I ordered from 3 different places to complete my order. Plow blade from Amazon. Side by side attachment plate from local dealer and push tube directly from kimpex.

Keep an eye out on Amazon as well. I may have just gotten lucky, but when I was in the market last year for my 2070 super, I checked pretty much all websites daily, multiple times a day :(

One random day I checked Amazon and they had the XC Ultra in stock. Bought it for almost $50 cheaper than B&H or NewEgg.

Im quite positive people make programs to order this stuff for them. So they can place an order for the latest and greatest WAYYY faster than any plebian on their keyboard can.

My coworker also tried to order the new 3080ti and was way outgunned.
